Editorial Policy

Paisa24 publishes free calculators and guides on income tax, salary, loans, credit and investing for people in India. Because these topics affect your money, we follow the rules below for every page we publish.

Who writes our content

Our guides are written and edited by Bilal Ali, editor of Paisa24, who also builds the Paisa24 calculators. Each author page lists the articles that person has written or updated.

How we research

  • Primary sources first. Tax rules come from the Income Tax Department and the Income-tax Act and Rules; banking and credit rules from the Reserve Bank of India; investment rules from SEBI and AMFI; small savings rates from the Ministry of Finance, National Savings Institute and India Post; PF rules from EPFO.
  • Reputable secondary sources (established financial newspapers and tax publications) are used only to confirm or explain recent changes, and are linked on the page.
  • Every guide lists its sources at the end, with the date we last checked them.

How we calculate numbers

  • All examples are calculated with standard formulas (for example, the reducing-balance EMI formula and the SIP future-value formula) and checked a second time before publishing.
  • Each guide includes a short ‘How we calculated this’ note with the assumptions used, such as return rate, salary structure or tax regime.
  • Market-linked returns are illustrations, not promises. We use conservative ranges and say so clearly.

Independence

Paisa24 does not accept payment to change what we recommend or how a product is described. If we ever add affiliate links or advertising, it will not affect our calculations or conclusions, and affiliate links will be clearly labelled.

Keeping content up to date

  1. We review rate-sensitive pages (such as small savings rates, repo rate and loan EMIs) whenever an official change is announced.
  2. We review tax guides after every Union Budget, Finance Act and major CBDT notification.
  3. Every article shows the date it was last updated, and the sources line shows when we last checked our references.

Corrections

If you spot an error, please tell us through our contact page. We check every report, correct genuine mistakes quickly, and update the ‘last checked’ date on the page.
